2024 Book Blanket

At the beginning of 2024, I saw a post by Jessica Barber, showing off her beautiful book blanket. I was instantly in love with the idea of combining two of my loves - books and crochet. So, I joined her Facebook Group, and what a journey it has been! I kept up with all of my squares throughout 2024, although I didn't get to join them until January of this year. Here is my finished product:

In case you're new to Book Blankets, here's the idea....you crochet a square that matches or corresponds in some way to the cover of the book you read. It's a super fun project, and I thoroughly enjoyed making this blanket last year. My initial goal was to read 45 books, but I surprised myself by reading 87 (I stopped making squares after 80 books so that my blanket would be a nice size.)

Technical aspects of this monster blanket:

• 80 squares

• Each square is 6.5"

• Made with #4 yarn and Hook I/5.5mm

• Finished size = 58" x 72"

I'm already making squares for 2025, but I'm doing something different with them. I'll share that very soon!
